JOB OPPORTUNITIES

 

We are currently recruiting for:

Archaeological Director or Site Supervisor, seeking advancement in their profession.

Remuneration:  Depending on experience

Principal Duties:

  • Licenced archaeological monitoring
  • Site direction of archaeological excavations
  • Liaison with statutory bodies within the planning process.
  • Organisation and management of multiple project workload.
  • Liaison with clients.
  • Site inspections.

The chosen applicant must hold:

  • 3rd level qualification (degree or equivalent) in archaeology or related subject.
  • Proven ability to manage own workload.
  • Excellent organisation skills.
  • Ability to produce high standard written work.
  • Full driving licence and vehicle.
  • Working knowledge of GIS.

 

 

Archaeological Site Assistants

Remuneration:  Depending on experience

Principal Duties:

  • Assist and work as part of the archaeology team to excavate and record archaeological material.
  • Identify, excavate and record archaeological contexts under supervision including the preparation of context sheets, scale drawings and photographic documentation.
  • Carry out calculations in the preparation of measured drawings and field survey, undertaking repetitious tasks without loss of concentration.
  • Assist with a range of post-excavation activities including processing finds and samples, assisting with the production of reports.
  • Achieve work targets agreed with the Archaeology Director managing the project including communication with contra tors, as appropriate.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the health, safety, security of sites and premises at all times.
  • Support communications, social media activity and events to enable wider engagement with audiences, in liaison with colleagues and the Business Manager.

Desirable criteria:

  • Full clean driver’s licence and willingness to drive company vehicles.
  • A valid CSCS Card.
  • Proven ability to manage own workload.
  • Excellent organisation skills.
  • Ability to produce high standard work.
